US Presidents Who Admit to Smoking Cannabis...

While a number of US presidents, have been associated with hemp and cannabis, it is only the last three, that admit smoking it. But you ask, "what about Washington or Lincoln?" Most of the "quotes", found on the internet, are unsubstantiated assumptions or misquoted text. Surely, questions will remain in a few cases.
Looking ahead, it's safe to say, that the days of a president or perspective candidate, dodging the marijuana question, are gone.
Bill Clinton
In 1992, Clinton had this to say, “And when I was in England, I experimented with marijuana a time or two, and I didn't like it, and did’t inhale, and never tried it again,"
Then in 2013, when asked by Jorge Ramos about the statement, Clinton said, “I never denied that I used marijuana. I told the truth, I thought it was funny.”
George W. Bush
"I wouldn't answer the marijuana question," Bush said in a taped interview."You know why? 'Cause I don't want some little kid doing what I tried."
Barack Obama
While speaking with a group of magazine editors in 2006, Senator Obama said, "When I was a kid, I inhaled. That was the point!"
In a 2014 interview with the New Yorker, President Obama was asked about legalization. He replied, "As has been well documented, I smoked pot as a kid, and I view it as a bad habit and a vice... I don’t think it is more dangerous than alcohol.”
And on the legalization of cannabis in Washington and Colorado, Obama went on to say, "it’s important for it to go forward because it’s important for society not to have a situation in which a large portion of people have at one time or another broken the law and only a select few get punished." This was a clear reference to the disproportion of minorities incarcerated for marijuana related crimes.
During a recent youth program roll out, Obama said this about his cannabis use growing up. "I made bad choices. I got high without always thinking about the harm that it could do".
