US Politicians Who Admit to Smoking Cannabis...

Andrew Cuomo ~ Governor of New York
"What I've said - the question's come up before, Josh, and I said I did experiment with marijuana when I was a youth. In no way do I suggest that any young people should do any experimentation whatsoever."
Newt Gingrich ~ Speaker of the House
In 1994, on Meet the Press, the future Speaker of the House, said this about his past marijuana use... "That was a sign we were alive and in graduate school in that era."
Al Gore ~ Vice President
In 1988 at a press conference, Gore noted, much like Gingrich did, that his cannabis use was a "period of change" for him and the nation. And "Like many others in my generation," he said, "my life reflects the times."
Maggie Hassan ~ Governor of New Hampshire
In 2014, Josh McElveen asked Hassan, an opponent of legalizing, if she had ever smoked cannabis. The governor replied with the old college stand by... "I was in college. I tried it.” She went on to say, “But things have changed. The drug is much more potent now."
John Kerry ~ Secretary of State | Senator from Massachusetts
During a CNN presidential debate, Anderson Cooper asked if any of the candidates had smoked pot. To which Mr. Kerry replied "Yes". As did, former DNC chair Howard Dean. Neither chose to elaborate further.
Sarah Palin ~ Half Term Governor of Alaska
"I can't claim a "Bill Clinton" and say that I never inhaled,” Palin told the Anchorage Daily in 2006.
Rick Santorum ~ Senator from Pennsylvania
During a CNN interview, Santorum told Piers Morgan, that during his time in college he smoked cannabis. “It was something that I’m not proud of, but I did." he said.
Arnold Schwarzenegger ~ Governator of California

Clarence Thomas ~ Supreme Court Justice
A spokeswoman for the G.W. Bush administration, said Judge Thomas had smoked marijuana "several times" while he was an undergraduate at Holy Cross. "And perhaps once" when he was at Yale Law School.
Coincidently, back in November 1987, Judge Douglas Ginsburg, a Reagan nominee to the Supreme Court, was forced to withdraw, due to his admitted pot use in college.
Gary Johnson ~ Governor of New Mexico
Johnson, a libertarian, has never denied his use of cannabis. In 2012, he was quoted in The New Republic saying, "I never exhaled." A cheeky reference to Bill Clinton and never inhaling.
In an interview for the Weekly Standard, Johnson admitted that he used medical marijuana/mmj after an accident in 2005. “Rather than using painkillers, which I have used on occasion before, I did smoke pot, as a result of having broken my back, blowing out both of my knees, breaking ribs, really taking about three years to recover,” he said.
